PUNCAK - Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, one of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS) HABEMA in Papua, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Puncak Regency area, Papua Tengah Province. On Sunday, 11 August 2024, the 323 Task Forces, especially the Pintu Jawa Post led by Lieutenant Inf Caroko, took deft action to treat sick residents in the Honai in Wombru Village, Mage’abume District. The Medical Team of the Post handled the sick residents after receiving the community’s report that two children suddenly had a high fever and needed immediate medical treatment.
The Commander of 323 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, has emphasized to the Soldiers that activities to help people’s difficulties in their assigned areas are the priority in the main tasks of securing the area. Therefore, after receiving the report, the Soldiers of the Post took deft action to implement the Procedure of Handling Sick Residents outside the Post. Since their duty began, the Soldiers have practiced conducting all procedures, including responding to the community’s report when residents are sick outside the Post.

While maintaining security as a priority, the Patrol Team and Medical Team advanced toward the Honai in the Wombru Village. Upon reaching the location, the Soldiers promptly secured the area and met with the family. The Medical Team, including Private Second Class I Wayan Tresna and Private Second Class Fadhil, meticulously followed the Procedure for Handling Sick Residents. Inside the Honai, two children, Melani Murib and Endis Telenggen, were found to be unwell. The Medical Team took comprehensive medical care steps, including checking the two children's body temperature and blood pressure, as well as inquiring about their current condition.
After the treatment, the Medical Team provided medicines to the parents and explained how to administer them for the patient's recovery. Upon completion of the activity, the patient’s family expressed their gratitude for the Soldiers’ presence and the efficient treatment provided by the Medical Team. The patient’s parent, Mama Mira Murib, joyfully exclaimed, "Thank you, Doctor 323. My children have been treated. God bless TNI." This positive feedback from the community is a testament to the TNI's commitment to serving the people.
"The initiative of the 323 Task Forces to treat sick residents in Wombru Village is the TNI's concern in assisting with the needs of the community, especially health, to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region, " said the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
